Villa Maya sits perfectly on a level site in the
hills behind Calpe on the beautiful Costa Blanca. The villa is located in the
area of "La Empedrola", approximately 10 minutes drive from the centre
of Calpe.
Although Calpe itself is navigable on foot, we most definitely recommend that
you hire a car. Should you wish, we can do this on your behalf at a most competitive
rate. Please discuss your requirements with us when booking. Click on the links

The Villa has it's own large private pool, secluded gardens with sun, shade and
terracing. Why not sit by the pool, topping up your tan and/or reading a book?
Alternatively, lie in the pool on an air bed, sliding in every so often to cool
your skin? Or, even sit in the Jacuzzi for an invigorating experience! Take a
lounger into the garden and lie under a tree to keep yourself cool or have a
wander through the garden. Later on take an early evening stroll down to the
municipal parkland in the valley below the villa.
If the heat becomes too much though, simply open the windows and sit in the lounge
with a cold drink and watch the digital satellite television on the plasma screen
or listen to your favourite music on the Hi-fi system.

Let the children play by the pool or take them to the beach..... or additionally,
take a trip to "Terra Mitica"! In English, this theme park's name translates
to "Mystical Land", and the children will undoubtedly think of it as
just that! This fantastic attraction to the Costa Blanca opened in 2000 and is
the Spanish variance of Euro Disney on more of an adventure scale. Located on
the outskirts of Benidorm, Terra Mitica brings a totally unique and fun day out
for all the family, and only a short, 20 minute drive from Villa Maya.
Why not take in some of the many other attractions of the area, such as "Aqualandia",
the water park or “Terra Natura”, the safari park. Many brochures
can be found in the villa when you arrive to enable you to plan just exactly
the perfect programme for your holiday.

Located nearby is the beautiful Jalon Valley (pronounced "Halon");
a fertile valley leading inland from Calpe. Take a drive through the old, traditional
villages and go back deep into the history of the area.
Along the coast road, to the north, are fabulous villages/small towns such as
Denia, Javea (pronounced "Havea"), and Moraria. These all should be
visited and explored if time allows.
To the south is attractive Altea. You must take time to visit, preferably on
an evening in the Summer, to marvel at it's ancient Church and it's traditional
artisans market in the square at the top of the hill. Slightly inland is Gata and Guadalest, but why go elsewhere when you can explore
Calpe's historic old town itself. The choice is yours!
After a lunch at the villa or an idyllic cafe, why not take in a walk up the
fabulous Peñon De Ifach, the rock that dominates Calpe's skyline. Take
a sturdy pair of shoes and a bottle of water on hot days, but once you walk through
the nature reserve to the top, the view is well worth the effort! You can even
see Ibiza from the summit on a clear day.

The Levante beach, or "Playa del Fossa" is home to the many water
sports in the area. Don't be put off with the name (in English it translates
to "Beach of the Dead"), as it is a truly energetic and fun packed
beach if you wish to join in! You could also just lie on the warm sand and take
a gentle swim or simply watch the world go by!
There are many possibilities for you. Why not go to the harbour and hire a sailing
boat for the day from the Club Nautico de Calpe, or go windsurfing, or play Table
Tennis on the villa's own full size table. Swim in the pool, play "pat ball",
walk in the hills and the valley below the villa or shop in the main street of
Calpe - the Gabriel Miro.
Hire a Jet Ski at the beach, go "Banana Boating", paracending, cannoning
etc.......
The list of things to do in Calpe is extensive - just enjoy it! |
